Alcatraz Line up: 2017, 2021

The Dutch death metal band Asphyx, founded by drummer Bob Bagchus, landed a contract with the then newly founded record label Century Media in the late eighties, who released their timeless debut 'The Rack' in 1991. Support tours followed, with Entombed and Bolt Thrower, which in turn launched Asphyx like a rocket. In the following years the band continued to make solid albums, but internal problems and constant lineup changes eventually forced them to pull the plug. Then in 2007, after a triumphant reunion show at Party San, which was just supposed to be a one off. Asphyx decided to revive the once so popular band. And what an excellent decision it turned out to be. Their live shows are stronger than ever, and their popularity continues to measure up to many of the established younger bands, in their genre. And now in 2016 with their outstanding new record “Incoming Death”, voted by German magazine Deaf Forever as ‘album of the month’, up their sleeves, Asphyx will collide with Kortrijk this summer, and will blow you away!
