Old hands on the death metal scene paying tribute to genre pioneers Death: it’s nothing new but when done right it still hits a nerve.
The latest of these bands to make waves is Left to Die, consisting of guitarist/vocalist Matt Harvey (Exhumed, Gruesome), guitarist Rick Rozz (ex-Death), bassist Terry Butler (Obituary, ex-Death) and drummer Gus Rios (Gruesome). The quartet are currently working on a debut EP but in the meanwhile they’re keeping their razors sharp by playing Death’s album Leprosy (1988) in its entirety, as well as cuts off their 1987 debut ‘Scream Bloody Gore’. The lucky few who got to attend their show in Café Elpee some time ago are salivating at the prospect of renewing their acquaintance with Left to Die.
