With 'Raya' (2020) Pothamus emerged as one of the most promising and ambitious bands in the heavy music genre. Harvesting influences from a broad musical landscape inhabited by the likes of Amenra, OM, Swans, Godspeed You! Black Emperor, Heilung and Wardruna, the trio have forged their own sound that throws out philosophical questions. Raging riffs and tribalesque percussion interact with an ethereal drone and engaging bass lines. A new release is scheduled for 2024.
