Rituals of the Dead Hand came into being in 2016 when Lykaios and Isangrim of post-metal outfit Hemelbestormer decided to venture into the darkest pits of extreme metal.
Vocalist Lykaios and guitarist Isangrim first expressed their love of creepy and sinister death, black and doom metal on ‘Blood Oath’ (2018). Their sophomore effort ‘With Hoof and Horn’ (2021) featured the first studio contribution of newly hired bassist Beleth and delved even deeper into the ominous darkness. And now they’ve made it an even three on the brand-new ‘The Wretched and the Vile’ with its dark tales of folklore, superstition and witchcraft.
