Brutal Sphincter
Alcatraz Line up: 2023
We have the pleasure of welcoming many Walloon fans but Walloon bands apparently find it harder to cross the language border. Still, Brutal Sphincter from Liège is here to buck the trend and your ears will prick up when subjected to the brutal bludgeoning these grindgore fiends inflict. If the music is dirty then the lyrics are downright gross. The band members call themselves ‘POOlitical’ so it’s no surprise that their lyrics are infused with political themes. They use an off-beat and satirical sense of humour to stand against all forms of extremism while supporting free speech. They have hundreds of shows under their belt in almost every European country as well as appearances at some of Europe’s leading festivals including Hellfest, Metaldays, Obscene Extreme, Netherlands Deathfest and Deathfeast Open Air. So far they’ve put out two well-received albums with ‘Dirty Jazz Bondage Club’ (2015) and ‘Analhu Akbar’ (2018). These guys like to party and they’re coming to Alcatraz so hold on to your hats.
