Soulfly is more than a band – it is the life mission of Max Cavalera.

Since its founding in 1997, he has left a lasting mark on the metal scene with a distinctive blend of groove, thrash, tribal rhythms and spiritual themes. The self-titled debut album immediately set the tone, featuring guest contributions from the likes of Chino Moreno and Tom Araya, and ever since, the band has continued to push the boundaries of the genre. Today, Cavalera shares the stage with the next generation: his son Zyon, who has been the band’s steady drummer for years. In 2024, their most recent album ‘Chama’ - Portuguese for “flame” or “calling” - was released; a work in which passion and spirituality once again take center stage, marking a new chapter in the band’s body of work.
