Strongly influenced by the New Wave of British Heavy Metal (NWoBHM), five friends in Canada decided to start a band.
Oscillating between power metal, speed metal and thrash, the fledgling band had trouble forming a stable line-up. Today no original members remain. Vocalist Cam Pipes didn’t join until 2001 but does feature on every album. Their sophomore effort ‘Advance and Vanquish’ (2002) raised heads on the metal scene and they put out three more slabs before disbanding in 2015. In 2024, 3 Inches of Blood returned to the front after a decade-long hiatus. They reformed for a one-off reunion show in early 2024 and this rekindled the flame.
