Alcatraz Line up: 2016, 2018
Not many front men realize to succeed in side projects out of the shadow from the band they became popular with. It worked out for Dez Fafara, after he put Coal Chamber on hold for several years. The extremely likeable Fafara, who's even tattooed to the chin, has certainly no lack of talent and dedication. DevilDriver may never have achieved the status of the nu-metal heroes Coal Chamber, but their albums surely are no less relevant. Meanwhile the seventh record “Trust No One” will be released in May, which proves the band is more productive than ever. Despite all this, the band really stands out best during live shows. DevilDriver gigs often stand for majestic circle pits, especially because the charismatic front man always know how to stir up his fans. Recently Fafara said: ‘on stage I change into a monster for one hour which you better lock up afterwards’. Since a while he's decided to slow it down on touring. He wanted some kind of break along with his family, which makes the passage at Alcatraz even more unique.
