With the unstoppable momentum of a wrecking ball, Extreme has been oscillating back and forth between unadulterated spells of serious hard rock on the one hand and introspective ballads on the other, a dynamic that makes this titanic multiplatinum quartet from Beantown one of the most unpredictable household names in the world of (heavy) rock. Shifting over 10 million albums in all, Extreme have played the world’s biggest stages and sold out arenas on several continents, including their memorable contribution at the Freddie Mercury Tribute Concert in London.
‘Extreme II: Pornograffitti’ (and the hit singles ‘Hole Hearted’ an ‘More Than Words’) saw Gary Cherone (vocals), Nuno Bettencourt (guitar, keyboards, vocals), Pat Badger (bass) and Kevin Figueiredo (drums, since 2007) earn double platinum. Most recently, ‘Six’ ended a 15-year recording drought. Extreme have never allowed themselves to be pinned down to a specific sound or style and ‘Six’ is no different, with the track list ranging from out-and-out rockers to light-hearted contributions. One of the most anticipated Alcatraz debuts this year!
