Out of the ashes of sludge/doom metal emperors Sleep, arises High On Fire in 1998. The band around main man and guitarist Matt Pike gives a new meaning to what a power trio is. Together with drummer Des Kensel  and bass player  Jeff Matz, Pike has released seven High On Fire albums. The latest 'Luminiferous' from 2015 as their best album so far.
