Messa masterfully blends doom metal with elements of jazz, prog, Middle Eastern influences, blues, punk, black metal and dark ambient.
Formed in 2014, they lit up the underground with a triptych of records - 2016's ‘Belfry’, 2018's ‘Feast for Water’ and Close (2022), each of which explored yet another niche in their ever expanding sonic universe. These Italian doomsters are known for their atmospheric intensity, intricate instrumentation and vocals that are at once powerful, soulful and versatile. Standing out in the modern doom scene, they shift effortlessly from brooding, slow-burning heaviness to moments of almost mystical beauty.
