Rock / Nu Metal

This American alternative hard rock / heavy metal band hit the ground running with their excellent major label debut ‘Scars’ (2001).
Despite frequent personnel changes – and band members returning to the fold as in the case of frontman Ryan McCombs – the fans stuck with the band. Soil was formed in 1997 by members that shared a death metal pedigree but the combination of alternative metal with a shot of nu-metal was a more viable option in terms of record sales. In the 21st century their gritty but emotional and melodic sound enabled them to consolidate their early success. At Alcatraz they will be introducing their latest outing ‘Restoration’.
