Sons of Lioth was founded in 2006 by five friends from Herenthout who, by their own admission, had nothing better to do.
What started as a joke - imitating theatrical metal bands like Spinal Tap, Manowar, and Blind Guardian - quickly grew into a serious heavy metal band. Their first demo featured medieval tales of wizards, dungeons and dragons and despite (or thanks to) their playful costumes and wigs, they soon became a local sensation. The band then took a more serious direction, without losing their love for melodic guitars and strange stories. With the original members still on board, they are set to celebrate their twentieth anniversary in 2026 with new music and are ready to blow the audience away once again.
