In 1989 American grindcore stalwarts Terrorizer dropped the album ‘World Downfall’. This year at Alcatraz they will celebrate their influential maiden album with a special set.
The band formed in 1985 with singer Oscar Garcia and the late Jesse Pintado on guitar. Shortly after they recruited Pete Sandoval to man the kit .They recorded ‘World Downfall’ with Morbid Angel bassist David Vincent but before long Pintado left to join Napalm Death. Sandoval also called it a day and took up drum duties for Morbid Angel. In 2005 the pair revived Terrorizer and the second album ‘Darker Days Ahead’ hit the shelves. Just five days after the release Pintado died and the machine ground to a halt. In 2009 Sandoval again rekindled the fire and several albums followed, always in a different line-up. In 2023 they disbanded again only to reform soon after in today’s line-up of Pete Sandoval, David Vincent (I Am Morbid, Vltimas), vocalist Brian Werner (ex-Vital Remains) and guitarist Richie Brown.
