Controversial is an understatement for the Floridian group, who have woven blasphemy and satanism into their lyrics for decades, a combination earning them both fame and infamy. Since forming in 1987, they’ve repeatedly pushed the boundaries of extreme metal and are considered one of the genre’s most influential acts. In 2024, they released their thirteenth studio album, 'Banished by Sin', their first new work in six years. It confirms Deicide remains at the forefront of death metal with relentless riffs, devastating blast beats and Glen Benton’s vocals sharp enough to pierce any nerve.
