Crippled Black Phoenix are an English rock band that delivers end time ballads. In 2004, Band leader Justin Greaves, former drummer of several doom and sludge bands, started recording ideas that had been swimming around in his head for years.
Greaves couples melody with a macabre tone, resulting in a unusual blend of styles that is constantly evolving. Progressive rock, dark folk, psychedelic elements and post-rock/metal, … anything goes. During live performances the band members often play Victorian-era instruments combined with contemporary rock instruments. In 2020 Greaves announced he would henceforth be working with a fixed group of core members, with 2022’s ‘Banefyre’ as the first result of this collaboration.
