Pitch-black, top-heavy and deafening is probably the best way to describe our introduction to DARQO. With a metal heart and an attitude to match, this West Flemish quartet including members of a.o. MIAVA and Mindstab have been making a name for themselves since 2011.
Plans for a debut full-length were shelved due to personnel changes – King Hiss’s Josh Fury was one of several axemen to handle guitar duties along the way - but it was well worth the wait. In 2016 ‘Nights in the Scullery’, the sonic equivalent of the overpriced jet fighters our government saw fit to order with your and our hard-earned cash, ruptured many an eardrum. A little bird has told us that their sophomore effort is set to drop sometime in 2020 so this is the perfect time for a much-anticipated Alcatraz debut. DARQO’s mix of sludge, doom and noise is not the faint of heart: 13 on the Richter scale!
