Swedish black/death power trio In Aphelion formed in 2020 during the darkest days of the Covid pandemic when Necrophobic guitarist Sebastian Ramstedt (vocals, guitar & bass) and Dutch drummer Marco Prij (among others ex-Cryptosis) joined forces.
No sooner had the first demo been recorded when Necrophobic guitarist Johan Bergebäck joined the fun. In 2022 their full-length debut ‘Moribund’ turned heads and their sophomore slab ‘Reaperdawn’ (2024) – now also including Necrophobic bassist Tobias Cristiansson – dropped jaws. This supergroup is not a watered-down version of melo black gods Necrophobic but a force that stands entirely on its own. Many pundits even feel their output rivals that of their main band.
