“Angry, simple, and full of middle fingers” is how band leader Edsel Dope describes the raging fury with which his band DOPE has been navigating the world of industrial metal since 1997.
When DOPE emerged in the bottom half of the 90s, industrial metal was riding high. They crafted their own brand of industrial metal, blending elements of heavy metal wit the sound of industrial rock acts such as Ministry and Skinny Puppy. ‘Felons and Revolutionaries’ (1999), ‘Life’ (2003, with the hit single ‘Die MF Die’) and ‘American Apathy’ (2005) all charted in the US. ‘Blood Money Part Zer0’ is the title of their most recent offspring. The ‘Zer0’ in the title is a nod to the work Edsel does as Static-X’s new vocalist Zer0.
